Roger nasceu em Newcastle NSW Austrália, em 1948, ele tem Bacharelado em Belas Artes pela Universidade de Newcastle NSW. Roger teve um fascínio por escultura em pedra por toda a sua vida. Ele trabalha em tamanhos de 30 cm a 300 cm de altura. Seu estúdio também tem uma fundição de bronze para pequenos bronzes. Roger também tem trabalhado com sucesso com aço inoxidável e madeira. Roger foi convidado para criar grandes esculturas públicas na Austrália, China, Brasil, Coréia do Sul e Suíça. Roger foi convidado para julgar exposições de escultura em Sydney e Newcastle. Sobre seus conceitos, o artista afirma:
| “ | Eu gosto de trabalhar em ambos os estilos figurativo e abstrato, capturando a essance do conceito, sem ser excessivamente litoral é a minha ambição. Se um artista não se comunicou com o público e contou com a imaginação espectadores, então ele falhou ". Obras Rogers são altamente acabado e mostram um alto grau de dedicação, empenho e habilidade. Sua filosofia é "respeitar a sua arte e respeitar seu público. | ” |
Treinamento
Roger learnt to carve mable in Italy. He travelled to Pietrasanta in 1994, 1997 and 1999 where he trained at the widely respected Palla Atelier. Roger also completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Newcastle NSW Australia.
